Introduction

Here at Flint House we have run a selection of art courses for many years and have had many happy participants pass through our doors, some returning again and again. We have recently added a testimonials page where you can read comments from previous students. All our tutors are experienced and well known in their particular fields. The Mosaic courses are run by Martin Cheek, Icon Painting is run by Peter Murphy, Etching is run by Charles Newington, Portrait Painting is run by Margaret Foreman RBA and Cherryl Founatin runs the watercolour courses. Further details of all the courses can be obtained by clicking on the links at the top of the page, where you can also view past participants work.
To ensure that all participants receive the best level of tuition, numbers are strictly limited. So if you don't want to be disappointed please book early.

All courses are run in our spacious, light and airy studio. Splendid lunches are included in the course fee and weather permitting, these can be taken in the large garden at Flint House. Flint House was built in 1720, when the two shipwright families joined forces and Mary Culmer married Joseph Wright.

We have a list of hotels and guest houses within a short walk from Flint House, all of which have been recommended by past course participants. There is a wide choice of accommodation to suit all budgets. Vegetarians can choose to stay in a vegetarian only guest house. Please check out our Accommodation page above for further details.

Flint House overlooks Viking Bay, the main beach of Broadstairs, which is on the Kent coast. It is a very unspoilt seaside town offering fabulous beaches, coastal walks, great restaurants and more than a couple of pubs to help occupy your evenings whilst on the course.
